About Mr. Reed

Mr. Reed started lessons at the age of twelve in 1972.  He played through junior high and high school in symphonic, jazz, concert, pep, recitals, solos, and marching bands, as well as neighborhood bands with the most successful being WQBC ("Wanna Quit But Can't").

 

He also played in a church band at Mason Temple Church. He played with Bobby Short at Garfield Elementary School in 1984 when he visited the school under the authority of Margaret Ward. He then played for and with a well-known Gospel Saxophonist Brother Vernard Johnson that was very inspiring.

 

Mr. Reed has been with B&J Music for nine years repairing instruments and Teaching Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet. "I try my hardest to produce leaders as I teach the kids all I know."

 

Mr. Reed plays professionally for different events throughout Danville and surrounding areas. "I just love that horn," he says.
